Our History
In 2018, after years of working in the construction industry and the nonprofit sector, Tate Williams founded CoBuild, a general contracting construction company focusing on residential and commercial construction. With a desire to make a difference, not just profits, Williams and the CoBuild advisory board created Emerging Builders, a Missouri nonprofit. The foundational idea behind Emerging Builders was to rise up and celebrate builders. From the outset, the goal of CoBuild was to collaborate with Emerging Builders to build beautiful spaces and develop entrepreneurs in the construction industry. Consequently, as CoBuild secures project contracts, the organization then hires Emerging Builders to do the work. Over the course of its founding year, Emerging Builders expanded to add a number of new business partners and serves as a staffing agency that places trained Builders with construction companies throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.
